The Boise coffee scene has experienced remarkable growth and transformation over the past couple of years, evolving into a vibrant hub for coffee enthusiasts and casual drinkers alike. With an increasing number of local roasters, artisanal cafes, and innovative coffee shops sprouting up throughout the city, there has never been a better time to explore the diverse offerings that Boise has to provide.. Here is my go-to list of favorite spots for when I need a pick-me-up, ensuring that I can enjoy a delightful cup of coffee while supporting local businesses:
Hey Black Moon - known for their pizza, but they serve some of the best baked goodies and some awesome coffee. They make pastries fresh every day. My go-to with my coffee is the Lemon Mascarpone Scone (it's gluten-free too).
Loving Lefse - A family run food trailer serving up freshly made Norwegian potato flatbreads aka "lefse" and the cutest and tastiest coffee! Grab a cup of their iced coffee and choice between sweet and savory lefse!
Hyde Perk - located in the heart of Hyde Park (North End Boise) along a couple other coffee options. My favorite is to grab one of their seasonal coffee options and taking it for a walk to Camel's Back Park to catch the views of downtown or a summer sunset.
Jitters by Jayne - Located downtown and one of the few places in Boise that offers a coffee flight! Grab a flight and a seat to catch up with friends and plan your downtown excursions or take a cup to go and walk across the street to my favorite gift shop Mixed Greens!
a Cafe - Right in the heart of downtown, this open-air spot serves up awesome coffee and an AMAZING breakfast. The best is when they roll up their garage doors to seat people on the patio. Highly recommend going early before the limited seating is taken.
District Coffee House - on the corner of 10th and Bannock St. this industrial style open concept shop is the perfect spot to grab a cup of coffee and work remotely. They offer hot brunch and pastries and see coffee brewery as a craft in which you'll taste the difference.
Form and Function - Now operating from two distinct locations! They create all their flavors in-house, including their signature chocolate, exotic chai, and various syrups. Their commitment to meticulous brewing and crafting of coffee makes this spot ideal for every coffee lover.
Push & Pour - A Boise Icon! It's a popular spot for locals who work remotely or hang out with friends. This venue serves as a center for community and friendship, with strong ties to Boise's skateboarding culture. While they have three locations, my favorite is the Greenbelt one, where you can savor their coffee and stroll along the Boise River, watching locals river surf along the paths.
